Mycoplasma Duo is a complete, user-friendly kit for the culture, identification, and differential titration of Ureaplasma species and M. hominis. Each kit contains suspension-transport media, 6-well microplates, ready-to-use reagents in dropper bottles, and disposable micropipettes. Microwells contain dehydrated Mycoplasma culture medium with growth factors and selective agents. A simplified reading method ensures accurate interpretation of results within 24 to 48 hours.

Identification is based on specific metabolic properties of each species hydrolysis of urea by Ureaplasma species and of arginine by M. hominis, leading to alkalinization of the medium. The reaction is visualized by a change in color of the pH indicator from yellow to red. Titration is performed based on serial dilutions in accordance with the reference method. Well “”X”” in the microplate is designed for the preparation of a standardized inoculum for antibiotic susceptibility testing (S.I.R. Mycoplasma).
