Dengue is an endemic disease affecting tropical and subtropical regions around the world. It is the most important arboviral disease in terms of morbidity, mortality and socio-economical costs. According to the World Health Organization, 50 to 100 millions cases of dengue infections occur each year, resulting in 250,000 to 500,000 severe complicated forms and 24,000 deaths.
The biggest challenge associated with patient management is rapid and specific detection of dengue virus during the acute phase in order to implement timely clinical treatment.
Antigen Detection
Platelia Dengue NS1 Ag assay is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Dengue virus NS1 Ag. Dengue NS1 Ag allows an early diagnosis of primary and secondary dengue acute infections with very high specificity.
Antibody Detection
Complementary tests as IgA antibodies and IgG antibodies improve the diagnosis efficacy to ensure better patient care. Platelia Dengue IgA Capture detects Dengue IgA anti-NS1 Ab in human serum/plasma. The combination of Platelia Dengue IgA Capture with Platelia Dengue NS1 Ag will enhance the sensitivity of late acute dengue infection.
Platelia Dengue IgG Capture detects high titers of Dengue IgG anti-NS1 Ab in human serum or plasma, consistent with secondary dengue infection.
